The chemistry platform SynBio3 in Montpellier has seen its IBiSA (Infrastructures for Biology, Health and Agronomy) certification renewed. A selling point for this state-of-the-art equipment, dedicated to research projects in biology, pharmacology and chemistry, that is located in the Max Mousseron Biomolecules Institute. Private as well as public laboratories can avail themselves of this instrumentation.

The SynBio3 platform: performance and expertise for biology and chemistry

SynBio3 is one of the technical platforms of the Balard Chemistry Pole in Montpellier. The service is divided into 2 technical platforms—peptides on the one hand and polymers on the other. The ‘peptide’ platform is specialized in the synthesis, purification and analysis of bioactive molecules. The ‘polymer’ platform proposed to synthesise, characterise and study the degradation of polymers intended for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications.

The instrumentation is available to outside scientific personnel to carry out their experiments. These can be performed by the SynBio3 operators or by the researchers themselves, after training and certification.

The renewal of the IBiSA certification, first obtained in 2012, confirms the expertise of the platform’s operators, as well as the performance of the equipment. All to support research projects in the health field, and in particular the fight against cancer.

IBiSA supports platforms and infrastructures for the life sciences

Created in 2007, the IBiSA certification recognises the utility of platforms and infrastructures for the life sciences. The certification follows a call-for-proposals to which the managers of these platforms can reply; the application consists of both administrative and scientific files.

The awarding of this label is the guarantee of a high visibility of the infrastructure in the biology community; the allocated funding is used to maintain and/or renew the equipment.

The Chimie Balard Cirimat Carnot Institute has 4 platforms dedicated to Chemistry, Materials and Processes in both Toulouse and Montpellier. Discover our platforms and gain access to high-technology instrumentation.
