A new bio-sourced detergent with a low environmental impact

The research partnership between Maintenancever and the Chimie Balard Cirimat Carnot Institute has led to the development of an industrial detergent with low environmental impact. In addition to its ‘green’ fabrication, this cleaner shows remarkable properties. Take a look at a Success Story.

Founded in 2009 in Narbonne, the society Maintenancever develops and produces liquid industrial products, in particular detergents. Certified ISO 14001 V2015, the company is engaged in a process of responsible development. This commitment is exemplified by the elaboration of products with a low environmental impact.

To rethink the formulation of their detergents, Maintenancever turned to the Macromolecular Engineering and Architectures research group in the Charles Gerhardt Institute of Montpellier, part of the Chimie Balard Cirimat Carnot Institute. The study carried out by Sylvain Caillol and Rémi Auvergne showed that bio-sourced compounds could be used in place of dangerous chemicals.

A winning bet, as this study led to the commercialisation of new detergents issued from sustainable chemistry. In the production of these products, terpenic hydrocarbons, widely used in industrial cleaners for their degreasing properties but also known to be harmful and dangerous, are replaced by molecules obtained from the biomass.

This fruitful collaboration has allowed Maintenancever to distinguish itself from its competitors. The new cleaners that it has brought to market, more respectful of the environment, also provide identical, or even better, properties than the traditional products.
