Post doctorate: Composites for the delivery of NO: elaboration, characterization and study of the kinetics and the delivery capacity in silico.

Context

Due to its vasodilating properties, nitric oxide (NO) can be very useful in the treatment of chronic injuries. However, the exogenous delivery of NO in biological systems in a controlled manner is a real challenge due in particular to the low solubility of NO in water and its extreme reactivity with a limited lifespan in the body. In this context, we have developed a patented technology that meets the prerequisites for clinical use. The BLUENO project aims from this technology to develop an innovative solution of healing patches based on the delivery of NO for the treatment of chronic wounds which, if not treated appropriately, induce a considerable cost for society, with an impact on public finances and also psychologically important in the patient.

Description of the subject

The recruited personnel will have to approach the different phases of the project which will concern the controlled synthesis of submicrometric particles of the active compound and its dispersion in biopolymers of natural origin for the shaping of the composite by molding and by additive manufacturing. The materials obtained will be characterized at each stage by the appropriate methods relating to materials chemistry and pharmacotechnology. In silico tests aimed at evaluating the maximum NO delivery capacity and its kinetics will have to be implemented in order to define the best candidates for in vivo tests, which will be supported as part of a service by a private partner.

Curriculum and skills

A PhD degree in chemistry with experience in health materials/biopolymer chemistry is required. A double competence with a degree in pharmacy will be highly appreciated.

Constraints

The work will take place on the CNRS campus of the Charles Gerhardt Institute of Montpellier (ICGM) as well as on the site of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Montpellier.

Recruitment process

A first selection will be made on file then an interview will follow for the selected candidates.

Applications must be submitted on the Emploi-CNRS website:
