Technology transfer and training for industry

SPS, spark
plasma sintering

Engineers and technicians in the area of materials processing

  • Acquire the underlying scientific understanding of materials sintering
  • Understand the uses of sintering and in particular that of spark plasma sintering
  • Know how to select the appropriate sintering parameters: temperature, pressure, duration, etc.
  • Be able to use SPS technology for the sintering of conducting (copper) and isolating (alumina) materials

Coatings by sol-gel synthesis :
preparation and industrial applications

Technicians and engineers working in the area of coatings: research, development and production

  • Learn about the preparation and industrial applications of coatings obtained by sol-gel methods
  • Master the chemical fundamentals of the sol-gel process
  • Be able to prepare, on the lab scale, a coating using the sol-gel process
  • Understand the correlation between the coating’s functional properties and its morphology and structural characteristics

Peptide
synthesis

Chemists (technicians, engineers, supervisors) wanting to undertake peptide synthesis
Biologists or analysts with some basic knowledge of organic chemistry

  • Review the theory of peptide synthesis in solution and on supports
  • Be able to critically select a synthetic approach from the most recent strategies and methods for the synthesis of peptides and analogues
  • Be able to carry out a solid-state synthesis of a peptide
  • Be able to purify and analyse a peptide
