Olivier Fontaine, laureate of the 2017 “La Recherche” Prize in Chemistry

Olivier Fontaine is an Associate Professor in the Department of Solid State and Divided Matter Chemistry and a member of the Aggregates, Interfaces and Materials for Energy group (AIME) in the Institut Charles Gerhardt Montpellier (ICGM). And he has just received the 2017 prize awarded by the magazine La Recherche in the area of Chemistry!

The research results of Olivier Fontaine honoured by La Recherche

Olivier Fontaine, Associate Professor in the AIME group of the Institut Charles Gerhardt Montpellier (CNRS/UM/ENSCM), a member group of the Chimie Balard Cirimat Carnot Institue, was recently awarded the 2017 Prix La Recherche in the Chemistry category, for his article “Biredox ionic liquids with solid-like redox density in the liquid state for high-energy supercapacitors”, published in 2017 in the prestigious scientific journal Nature Materials. As part of this award, Olivier Fontaine will see his research profiled in an upcoming issue of the magazine La Recherche.

By entering into the pages of a publication that is a reference in the area of scientific information—covering the latest discoveries and addressing a large public—this prize will give additional visibility beyond the scientific community to the research activities of the ICGM.

The awards ceremony for this 14th edition of La Recherche Prize will take place on 31 January 2018 at the Université Paris-Dauphine during the Think Education & Recherche days.

Prix La Recherche: 1 prize, 12 categories, 1 for Chemistry

Since 2004, the Prix La Recherche recognises each year the best scientific articles of the previous year by francophone authors in 12 categories, including Chemistry.

These publications, selected by a panel of 21 experts representing all disciplines, have to meet three criteria: demonstrate an advance in their field of research, involve francophone researchers, and have been communicated to their peers in 2017.
